I am about to plant two rugusa roses. I am wondering and hoping that they will tolerate the high winds we have here? They look sturdy roses to me. Does anyone have any ideas?

Can I take the suckers out do you know as I am planting in a space to share with a ribbon barked cherry and two magnolias! Did you loose the roses when you had to dig them out?

I had some of these years ago and we have a very windy garden .... they grew very strongly - in fact they started to outgrow the space where they were in very quickly ... so we dug them out in the end .... now I am thinking again of putting some in next spring as they will cover the back fence of the garden - but will keep an eye on suckers this time ....
