When I was refreshing the soil on top of my outdoor pot plants I found these worms, are they harmful to my plants.

Oh owdboggy that's a relief to hear. No, they don't bother me at all, my worry was my plants.

They look like the ones commonly called 'pot worms'. They are not harmful to your plants, but it is usually a sign that the compost is a bit wet and possibly too acid. Try sprinkling some crushed egg shells on the surface, if they bother you.
