I was given this plant several years ago and it's languished in my garden in the westcountry. It has increased in size dramatically and now looks as if it is about to produce one large flower. I have no idea what it is called. Does anyone recognise it?

It is one of the Phormium cookianum, possibly 'Cream Delight'

Yes, a Phormium. You might be disappointed in the flower, I was!

Yes, it's a Phormium. The flower is like a very large gladiolus. I loved it.
