Very upset at finding lots of dead frogs in my pond, also why was all the frogspawn 'sterile' both this year and last year, I don't have fish or newts in the pond which a few years ago was always full of frogs and frogspawn. What can I do to get some frogs back or is there a problem with my water?

Its got to be the water as they are ok until they get in the pond
Do you live by farmland ? water draining off into your pond with fertiliser and the like ?

amphibians having pouress skin are the first creatures too suffer inviromental problems . id say clean the whole pond out completely as it sounds not so good .

Could it be slug killer? I do not use slug killer as it can be passed along the food chain and garden frogs do eat them

Well something's not right - it may be the water, or some environmental problem in the surrounding area such as pesticide use, etc. You could contact www.froglife.org - they may be able to advise.
