Hello,
We have inherited a large clay lined pond which is full of bulrushes. They produce a small amount of new green leaves each summer but no bullrushes and there is a lot of dead previous years growth. How do I start to deal with this? It is quite a large area but just looks dead.
Thank you

you realise bulrushes are not the plant with the brown cigar shaped seeds for a start . they need cutting back every spring really but don't need it .

Sounds like a big messy job. Do you really want this pond? If so, you need to get in there a begin removing all the dead debris. Get rid of the bulrushes & replace with something like water lily. Clean it up.
