It's difficult to see how thick the leaves are....they do look a bit like Bromeliads !!!!!

Am glad that I am not the only one who grows succulents in bonsai trays. What Sempervivum variety is it? Normslly they looks a lot more rosette shaped and it does look like a Bromeliad to me. Nice plant whatever it is.

Difference between Sempervivum and Echerveria ????

They are both Crassulaceae Badfish but Echeveria has more fleshy leaves. Botanic I've seen Semps. at SRGC shows grown in large clay saucers.

Possibly an Echeveria? I don't think it stands a chance of surviving with that giant grasshopper though !!!!!
