Comfrey for compost
Have come across numerous comfrey plants recently, all about 3 ft tall with huge leaves. Can I put some in my compost bin ?
And if so, can I put it in stalks and all ? And should I cut it up fairly small or leave it as it is.?
I know there's other things I can do with this stuff but there's plenty.

Hi Hank, yes you can put it on your compost heap, and you don't need to chop it up small, what I would do is put it on the ground, and chop it with a spade, especially on the ribs, or you could break it up as you're collecting it, it's only to create an easy access point for the bacteria that will speed up the composting process, Derek.
