I have two pyramid box in pots, one has dead patches all over it, I have been breaking these off and it is now looking rather sad. I have been trying to find out if it's box blight, it does look like it but I can see no spores or black fungus spots on any leaves, does anyone know if these are always visible. I'm hoping it's not box blight but could it just be lack of nutrients, I have fed it and top dressed most years but they have been in pots for over 5 years and are overdue re-potting. Any suggestions would be helpful

Hi, it sounds to me as if it's not getting any nutrients because it's pot bound, either that or it's not getting enough water, if the branches overhang the pot, this is probably a cause, but being pot bound won't help, I would get it into a bigger pot asap, using a loam based compost, such as John Innes #2 or #3 with some added horticultural grit, Derek.
