my tamarisk tree has been in my garden for over ten years . I noticed today that it is shedding its bark on almost every branch. Do I prune it, spray for bugs, or give it up?

Bit more info required I'm afraid - which variety of Tamarix is it? You haven't said which part of the States you're in, that would be useful to know too. Is the tree otherwise looking healthy? Is the bark on the main trunk peeling off, or just the branches?
