I'm pretty sure its Deutzia gracilis, possibly, but not necessarily, the cultivar 'Nikko'

Thanks Bathgate, Bamboo and Sheilabub. My sister is delighted. It was a cutting she got 16 years ago which never bloomed much until she moved it and pruned it late last year !
