When to pick peas?
I know that the pods need to look rounded and full but I've just picked 12 pods that I thought looked ready and only 3 contained full grown peas - all the others were immature. Is there anyway of knowing without squeezing the pods too hard!

It really is a case of giving them a good squeeze to feel how big the peas are. Ours aren't even ready yet!

thanks + a new recipe to try (I would never have thought to put peas in mayo).

Me neither

Not really, its trial and error. The season doesn't last long for peas - mine are already cut down to the ground. I prefer them when they are immature - much sweeter. Try them with raw with chopped mint and mayo - yummy.
