We have a beautiful 'velvet fragrance' Hybrid rose...it has begun flowering but we have noticed that there appears to be a bud within the flower itself...what is this? Should we remove once the petals have fallen from the flower? Will it flower?

it could also be a slightly higher than normal female part that will become the seed pod/hip.. a photo would be useful.

that is proliferation and is a genetic hiccup during the formation of the flower. nothing to worry about, it may or may not open though

So I should remove? Or wait to see what, if anything, it produces?

No, just leave it, it won't cause a problem - unless you don't like the look of it, when you can just deadhead as if it were dead.

Might be a bit of proliferation, but really need to see a photo. If it is proliferation, it's nothing to worry about, this might be the only flower you ever see affected in such a fashion.
