I'm not sure if this will work but when I have green tomatoes left at the end of the season I put them in a paper lined draw with an unripe banana. The banana will let off methane gas (I think it's methane?) which in turn helps the toms to ripen!

You can make green tomato chutney with them or, if they are big enough, leave them on the stem somewhere sunny and dry and see if they will ripen.
