I am planning to grow some herbs in a long pot.Which are best as I have read some are best planted alone.

Thank you

I've got a long trough with chives, flat leaf parsley, rosemary and mint all doing well. You could plant some sage. However I did try corriander but the slugs had a field day. I now grow basil and corriander in pots from seed in my mini greenhouse. I think the more tender herbs grow best alone.

Rosemary will be a purely temporary visitor in a trough situation - its a shrub and it needs a pot to itself. Mint is highly invasive and is likely to take over the whole pot eventually. Thyme, sage, oregano/marjoram, parsley will be fine in the same pot, though you may need to remove and split the oregano after a year or two. Fennel needs to be in the ground really, it likes a deep root run - bay obviously becomes a tree, so will need a pot to itself. Annual herbs such as Dill and Basil will be fine mixed in the trough with others, if there's enough room.

Thank you both of you.
