Powdery mildew on acanthus
Hi goyers, seeking your advice...the acanthus plants in my garden are on clay soil and have developed powdery mildew, should I spray the leaves or do I need to cut right back to avoid risk of spreading to nearby roses and rhodendron ? Thanks

Mildew is usually associated with dryness at the roots, so give the plants a good soaking.

Agree with answer above, but it won't hurt to spray with 1 part milk to 9 parts water as well, cows milk that is. Sounds daft, but it works against powdery mildew.

Shouldn't affect your rhododendron

Thanks all and intrigued by the milk/water mix, will need to try it!
