I have a bush in my garden and am told its common name is ...Elisha's tears. Can you tell me anything about it

Well, according to Google, Elisha's Tears is a common name in some parts of the world for Leycesteria formosa. New one on me, never heard that before, its common name in the UK is actually Pheasant berry. Suggest you google Leycesteria formosa and have a look at images to see if that's your plant.

I have had one of these in my garden for a few years now Glenis and apparently the birds love the berries, old stems need cutting back to the ground in March. there is a good picture and info in Dr Hessayon's paper back 'the tree and shrub expert' Vileve
