NEWLY PLANTED COX'S ORANGE PIPPIN

About three months ago I planted a newly purchased cox's orange pippin and since then it has produce three long summer spurs. My question is should I remove these spurs and if so to how far back to the original branch? Or, indeed, should I take them back by half or even leave them alone for this year?
Many thanks.

Leaving the pruning advice to others I just wondered have you got a pollinater for it?
