We had a tree which seeded all over the lawn. Tree now gone but can't get rid of seedlings. Mow them flat but they return when grass grows a bit too long. Anyone know how I get rid. Can't use weed killer as have five cats, and hedgehogs around. We have a gas weed wand might try but concerned that the burnt patches in the lawn won't regrow. Any thoughts?

Probably not seedlings but suckers. You could try digging for the tree roots, but this would destroy your lawn. Frequent mowing is probably the best, you could also try applying a spot or stump weedkiller carefully with a small paintbrush to the cut woody bits after mowing. The weed wand won't kill the roots.
