Hi, I agree with Andrew, Phormium, if I were to hazard a guess, it would probably be Phormium tenax 'Veitchianum' which has creamy white stripes, rather than the creamy yellow stripes of P tenax variegatum, Derek.

Thanks for the info Derek, I had a quick flick through, it was most interesting.
In fact one of my Dads ancestors was a Horturculturist so you never know, our Crest is Three Bulls Heads so sounds like we may of been Rustlers as well LOL, I know we came from the boarders of Scotland but being my Dad died years ago I can't ask any questions, I'll have to ask my cousin as she looked up our family tree but not sure how far she went back in time.
