Doesn't need feeding - it prefers stony dryish soil that isn't particularly fertile. It's also listed as a 'bienniel or short lived perennial'. If yours flowered last year, this might be a seedling that's grown, or an offshoot off the original, don't know, but its not likely to be the original plant - they put out an awfully long tap root which would have been difficult to accommodate in an ordinary pot. Needs deeper soil than that pot is probably going to give it, though I can't see the depth of the pot - needs to be 9 or 10 inches deep,otherwise, in the ground, but it'll flower next year and not this, I'm willing to bet.

Thank you Bamboo. What would be the best thing to do with it? Put in back in border for the winter or repot in a deeper pot?

To be honest, I'd stick it back in the border - but it does need the sunniest spot you've got!
