Pruning a Anthemis Kelwayi?

Does anyone have any suggestions on how to prune a Anthemis Kelwayi? Mine had gotten a lot bigger than the space available for it, so I've just cut it back by about half (as the flowers had passed their best). Some information I've read online suggests to cut it back hard and I'm unsure how ruthless to be?

Hi, this is a variety of Anthemis tinctora, and can be short lived, but pruning haard back after the flowers have faded, encourages the production of strong basal growth, which overwinters better than leaving longer growth, cut it back quite hard to about 2 or 3 inches, Derek.
