I've an established Choisya and, for some reason, the centre branches have died back. Looking for advice on how to prune it in order to return it to its original bush-like shape. Many thanks.

What it needs is cutting right down, removing all the outer long growth and leaving only the fresh new growth in the centre. BUT, its a bit late to risk it - if we have a cold and early onset winter, any new growth the plant's been forced to put out by this hard pruning will be caught in the frost, it won't have had time to harden off properly.
If you're close to the sea and its in a sheltered spot anyway, you could risk it, otherwise, do it next spring.
