I wonder if you can advise me. Picture below of a tree in my garden which recently started to go brown on one side. There is a possibility that it may have been caused by me putting weedkiller down on the gravel so I am worried that I may have killed the tree. Any advice would be much appreciated.
Thank you,
Lynn

Unfortunately, whatever the cause, the tree is not going to recover. Think of it as an opportunity to plant something else in its place.

The weed killer is doing it's job. It will spread to the whole tree eventually. It can't be reversed. Start thinking of replacement, but first make sure the ground isn't contaminated with it.

When you've removed it perhaps you might try growing some annuals in the same plot to see if they do well. If there is residual weedkiller in the ground this would be less expensive than risking killing another tree.

Don't you think it's just being a conifer? They are a bit prone to odd bits of die back.

Many reasons can cause this - Could be Sun Scald - Wind Burn Plus many more reasons - Regarding weed Killer - I would think if that was the problem the whole tree would be brown not just one side -- Check on the internet about your type of tree and reasons for this -
