I have a Poinsettia which I have had since last xmas, it flowered well into March, so I thought I would try and see if I could keep it for next xmas . I have done all the things suggested by Monty Don, and for the last couple of months it has had quite a few healthy green leaves. My question, should it have green leaves at this time, also they seem to droop as if to die if I don,t give them a little water ( although instructions say keep dry ).At the end of Sept I need to keep it in the dark for most of the time, should I also still keep giving it water, I don,t give it a lot and only about every 2/3 weeks, but I have got this far so would like to think I can get it to turn red when the time is right, advise please.

Don't keep it dark "most of the time" but do reduce its daylength, so no artificial light in the evenings. And don't keep it so dry that it wilts.
Google "Keeping poinsettias year round" for lots of good advice. bes to fluck.
