thank guys for your comments I do plan on staying here for a long time but my only dylema is I don't want to spend lots of money to do it all right because the neighbors don't look after the place I just want it to look a bit nicer with colour but keep the suggestions coming please thanks :)

Michelle, the best place for this would be as a comment on your original question, as anybody who didn't see yesterday's questions won't know what you are talking about!
Without seeing photos of the areas you are concerned about its hard to know what else to suggest. Lots of sympathy for your situation though. Try adding a couple of photos to your original question perhaps.
