Apple trees from pips. My granddaughter has grown a plant from a pip . This will be its first winter. Will it lose its leaves . It lives on a bedroom windowsill and is about 4 inches high. I have warned her that there won't be fruit for many years. Thank you.

It might not indoors - its not getting the climactic messages it would receive outside, but eventually they may fall because of low light levels.

If it is programmed to need winter chill, though, it may not leaf out in the spring, without a holiday in an unheated garage, though. Eventually needs to be hardened off and planted outside.
