We would like to get a Bare Root Dorothy Perkins Rambling Rose in November, any idea how fast they grow? X

Very prone to mildew attack, needs to be against something airy, like a trellis or something, to reduce the chances of infection. There's nothing worse than waiting for the only flush of flowers you're going to get in a year and finding they're all terrible because of mildew... Can't say how fast it grows, but ultimate height is around 15 feet.

Glad that you mentioned the Midwest proneness, Bamboo. We had one in our gdn. when I was young & it always had mildew& a lot of the flower buds fell off. A very old variety & I wouldn't choose a rose that only has one flush of flowers. Perhaps SBG will have another think about it.

not me after one Feverfew as although its pretty it did get mildew now I think about it.

neighbour used to have one on his fence when I was little, not rampant as I remember but gave a decent show every year.
