I assume it flowered as normal. the weather and pollinators at this time will affect the formation of fruit. if it was wet/colder when the flowers were out then the flowers didn't get pollinated and then no fruits will form. Next year you may get the berries.
I do find that mine has a good year with lots of berries then fewer the next.

Have you pruned it at the wrong time ?

I agree with Sbg..mine was poor last year,but this year it is laden with berries..If you pruned it after flowering,that would be another reason .

most fruit on old wood so hard pruning stops flower formation.....
