I brought my young sago palm inside for its second winter. There is a spike growing from the centre and has not altered in 3 months, doesnt look like a flower, any ideas please.
I would be grateful for any response.

Right. Having trawled the Internet, I've found a site - davesgarden.com which gives info on sago Palm care and cultivation. It's very comprehensive and interesting. The spike coming up in the centre is due to lack of light and the palms don't flower until they are at least 15 to 20 years old and they need both male and female plants to pollinate. Hope this helps.
