I'd have said it was a bit early but depends on how much you have and just how well on it is.

If its grown on well and there are plenty of good sized sticks, no reason why you shouldn't take some for eating now.

Probably best to take only take a little as its so early. Don't cut it though, pull the stalks direct from the base. I take off the leaves and use them as slug deterrants round leafy veg. Waste not want not.

I wonder which variety it was. Mine disappeared in winter though its back now in a rather thin and weedy sort of way.

Thanks all your advice I will leave it for a while as there are only a few stalks it's in it's 2nd year, I forgot your not to cut it so thanks for mentioning to pull only.
