Waterlogged - still ! Some of you guys will remember the 2 1/2 ft deep hole I dug in my back garden, trying to find why that pont, and that pont only was always waterlogged. I failed to solve the problem, filled it up back up and lok at it now !
Is there anything at all that I could grow there ? NOTE - my humorous friend has already suggested rice.
I know the photo will be shown wrongly again but still haven't a clue why.

Iris kaempferi or more likely sold as Iris ensata will grow happily in water as long as it is not polluted.

Will look into those tomorrow thanks guys. ( no pollution )
No spring either, just clay soil below - no rain - stays dry.

Cover it with a paving stone and put an ornament on top, lol.

Thanks S, that was my last resort. Might easily end up that way.

Are you sure you haven't got a leek some ware water will always find the lowest point could be leaking some were else my daughter has a similar problem the gardens around her are all higher the only answer for her is to build her garden up at the low point

Sadly not a leak P, I've been looking into the problem for years now and am certain the problem is solid clay. And my garden is higher than next door's.
Now going to try the plants OB mentioned above and if they fail, it has to be tiled with something on top.

If you garden is higher than your neighbours you could dig a channel that way getting deeper as you go and fill with gravel depends weather its going to give your neighbours any problems.

Thanks P, you're really trying here, but this 1 spot is right in the middle of my garden and digging a trench just over 10m either way is impossible.

Marsh marigolds? The kind of iris that like pond edges (there are some nice blue ones but I don't know the name). Its too near the drive for wetland shrubs isn't it? It does look as though you might have a spring there - get a water diviner to check the source and make a well? (That's a serious suggestion)
