Hello. I have a garden I maintain where the beds are over-run with this type of plant/weed. Does anyone know what it is called and whether you would class it as a weed? I am finding it very invasive and have used weed killer last year to try and reduce it unsuccessfully.
Thanks

it is only a weed if it is growing in the wrong place or not wanted. it sounds as if you don't want it. so it is a weed.

Looks like Coltsfoot. No idea how you would get rid of it.

Isn't it too early for Coltsfoot leaves? Did you have yellow flowers before any leaves had emerged?

Winter heliotrope, Petasites fragrans. It is much too early for coltsfoot leaves, the flowers are out now.

Sorry Greenfinger I thought it was you who asked this last week, hence my comment. The consensus was winter heliotrope then.
