We picked our first ripe tomatoes yesterday... it is just a matter of patience. Either that or pick some that are near to being ripe, put in a paper bag with a ripe banana and they will ripen more quickly.

My father always wrapped each green tomato in newspaper and put them in a drawer. They then ripened.

Goodness rather labour intensive and not really necessary for tomatoes.

The weather will need to brighten up a bit, and this year many of the growers on GoY, have tomato plants inluding myself that are taking longer to ripen.
If you wish to keep the greenhouse warm, you can buy a small haeter, bit it is the Sun that will casue them to ripen. It will just take some patience for the Sun to come back out.
It is annoying, I know.
