The heads of my snakes head fritillaries appear to being eaten or rather snapped off, i have enclosed them in fine netting to no avail ..
What is happening and how can i stop it.

Is it likely to be slugs? They do climb up stems of plants and gnaw through close to the base of the flower. Have you seen any slime trails? They could be very small slugs, try going out after dark with a torch to see.
