Has anyone grown Salvia Superba? And if so, have you noticed whether slugs aren't bothered by it? I'm desperate to grow salvias but every time I've tried they've been munched. The RHS website suggests salvia superba as a variety not appealing to slugs...not sure if I want to waste more money though. Also, can anyone suggest an alternative to the lovely deep purple spikes that I can try (I want to plant in combination with astrantia major and pimpinellas). Thanks!

I have Salvia Caradonna which seems a good doer and don't think the slugs like it too much, I think I've seen a white one similar too :-)

Oh that's interesting, thanks, I do like the deep colour of the caradonna. I will have a look for Rose Queen too, I don't think I've ever come across it before.

Yeah..I've grown it. Not had any problems with it being eaten....but I find it hard to overwinter it here in Scotland. Rose Queen is my favourite. :) good luck!
