I have a number of Nerinesto plant

London, United Kingdom

I have a number of Nerines to plant (10), and would like advice as to how deep the container should be for these? I am thinking of planting 5 in each container; do the roots grow very deep??

Nerines should be planted with the top one third of the bulb out of the compost and grown in a sunny spot so the bulb can get ripe enough to produce flower buds. The would probably need a good foot of soil below the bulb for the roots.

Yes I agree with Owd. I have some against a sunny wall in the hopes they will set flowers all the time.

I would recommend at least 30 cm of compost, also. It might get by with less, but blooming will probably be impaired.
