I planted the wisteria below about two months ago. Nothing has happened to it, it looks exactly the same as when I planted it. I thought it should have done something by now....
Does anyone have any advice, please?

Looks as if it has a leaf bud on it on the first and last photo. I bought one last year and it's currently like this but with leaves about to open. Have you got something for it to grow/ climb up and across?

Mine didn't do very well last year and isn't looking great now though I can see a few buds forming. It seems late to me but perhaps it's because many other plants are flowering earlier than usual.

This looks about right for mine too. I am hoping for flowers this year or it is going in the compost bin as I have had it for 15+ years with no flowers grrrrr.

Hi Sbg, don't give up on it just yet, it only has another 5 years to go before flowering, they can take up to twenty years, especially if it isn't a grafted plant, { I don't know, some people just have no patience, lol }, Derek.

Many thanks for the help.
It's going to climb up a pergola, I just put the white material behind it so that it would show up better. I can't wait twenty years----I'll be a nonagenarian by then, if I'm lucky!

I've got my two growing up the fence. Bought one when it was flowering (pink floribunda one) and then my sinesis one is purple and is just like yours in the photo :)

They don't always take ages, Canalhopper - mine flowered in its first year. The buds are only just forming now, so yours should be fine.

To find out if it is still alive, scratch off the outer skin of the twigs in a few tiny spots. If it lives still, it should be moist and green under the skin.

I hope your pergola is a very large one, Canalhopper, as Wisteria gets absolutely enormous.

I was told by a very wise gardener that when buying a wisteria buy one either that's already in flower or one where you can see it has flowered. That way you'll know it should bloom next season.

I did that with mine, labelled as white, and it bloomed the first year. Came out blue! Last year it looked as if it was dying so this year I'm trying to be patient to see if it will begin to thrive.

When it stops raining, I shall go out and have a little scratch, and report back.
Yes the pergola is quite big--possibly 3m x 6m.
It came fron a reputable nursery. so hopefully it will perform properly.
