Hi
I have no choice but to move my 4 year old lilac which has just come into flower. Could someone please give me the best options to keep it safe through the trauma.
Thanks, Carrie

You can always cut the flowers first and enjoy them in the house...

Extract carefully as many roots as is possible without breakage. Trim the topgrowth down by a third to a half, and replant immediately into a prepared area, watering in well. Repeat watering every 3 to 4 days for at least a month to six weeks, then water well weekly until late autumn (unless its torrential rain).
