My hawthorn tree had fabulous blossom all over the tree last year but this year the buds have not blossomed . Any ideas why not?

My hawthorn is the same.....it was planted 5 years ago and has had blossom every year but this year very scarse and the blossom that is there has not opend. Strange.

The hawthorn has only just started to flower in Northamptonshire, perhaps it's a little early to worry.

only just starting to bud burst in east yorks, but lots in tight bud. just give it time.

Do you mean that flower buds appeared but haven't opened?
