Lol, matches what I said on the duplicate question almost exactly!

All I would add is to dip the end into some rooting hormone you can pick up at the garden center, then follow above.

Never heard of using that on succulents before.

the shelf life of the active ingredient is very short and apart from the added fungicide the powder is a waste of money in my opinion. but some people swear by it so give it a go if you'd like.

Cinnamon works too - as a fungicide.

It the cut is left to skin over and the compost is kept pretty dry you shouldn't need a fungicide anyway.

I'm going to try this with my African Violets.

Do yo mean the leaving to dry? I think this only applies to cacti and other succulents. (Including Pelargoniums)

In my experience, Euphorbia cuttings root more easily if you dip the newly cut end in very warm, but not scalding, water to stop the flow of latex. Otherwise, the latex forms a thick skin over the cut end, interfering with root growth. I would also cut off the flowers (as per Seaburngirl) and about the oldest half of the leaves, to keep it from shrivelling too fast. Letting it dry for a few days before planting helps prevent rot.

with African violets cut a leaf with the stem intact. push the stalk into compost until the leaf balde is in contact with the compost. then keep watered and new plantlets should form at the back of the leaf blade in contact with the soil.

Thank you for the advice Seaburngirl. I tried it once before but the leaves went mushy. Maybe I watered it too much?

if there is a non-flowering shoot cut it off leave to dry and then pot in a gritty compost and water sparingly. if they all have flowers chose a shoot where the flowers haven't opened yet. pull the flowers off and treat as above.
