I have a question but no pic but just noticed that a lady called marion has asked the same question that i wanted 2 ask and it seems the answer u have given here about whether or not her wisteria is in bud was the answer i was looking 4,how ever as much as the buds r the same as mine im not sure which wisteria i have ,ive had it neary 5 yrs and these are the 1st buds ,would still like a reply ,thankyou,susan

It's pretty difficult to tell a particular variety of wisteria from any other one at the best of times, but its more likely that varieties can be singled out on examination of the fully open flowers rather than the buds. The length of the raceme is important for ID, so you need to post a photo once the flowers are out - one showing the whole plant and another with a closer shot of the flowers.
