Previous question
Iris ensata, Russia/Japanese iris, actually grow from rhizomes rather than bulbs, Guest, although I am being a picky there. They are also known as Water Iris because they grow on streamsides and in boggy ground. These rhizomes will not like drying out so I would leave them in the ground permanently or plant them now if you have just bought them. If you have to lift them from the garden for any reason then I would plant them in pots rather than storing them
