Storing Daffodil Bulbs. I am getting some cheap daffodil bulbs in a major DIY store and was wondering if I can buy them and put them in garage until September/ October when I am planning to plant them in my garden outside. Can anyone tell me how do I store them?
Thanks in advance.

Growing daffs is big business in Cornwall and they're not being lifted yet, so Bulbaholic's almost certainly correct that they are old stock.

Daffodils should really be planted by end of August anyway, but I suspect the others are right, this is last year's stock being sold off.

Ak, I would be very wary of getting cheap bulbs from such a store at this time of the year. The current years bulbs will be barely on the shelf yet (I have not seen any yet) so what you are being offered are likely to be last years bulbs that have been in the store since September 2009. Feel the bulbs before you buy these. If they are soft and papery then beware as they will be dead. If they feel fresh and firm then I have got it wrong and they are 2010 stock.
Keep them in a cool dry place and they should be OK for planting in Sept/Oct although the sooner the better.
