I have around 20 hydrangeas which all survived the mild winter except for two. They were both Miss Saori, the Chelsea plant of the year 2014. I bought them from Burncoose nursery and I wondered if anyone else had experienced the same?

Are they in pots or in the ground? Hydrangeas are mostly pretty hardy in the UK but more susceptible to frost damage in pots.

Hi, welcome to GoY, according to Burncoose nursery, these are hardy to 5 deg f, so even in a pot I would expect them to come through a mild winter unharmed, unless they were very wet all winter, if this is not the case, I would be looking for a cause other than winter damage by frost, Derek.
