What variety is this bamboo? I need to know if it runs or clumps. These are stalks and shoots of plants that were harvested elsewhere. However I did plant some young shoots from same plant. That's why I need to know.

Exact I.D. would require a full view of an intact plant of that kind, plus a close up of the foliage, with an indication of scale. As for the basic type, look at the parent plant: clumping kinds have stems close together, with the new shoots coming up less than 6 inches from the mature stems; running kinds have stems a foot or more apart--sometimes closer in old thickets--and the new shoots can come up as much as 10 feet from the mature stems.
