I wonder if someone could please tell me what this is. It is looking very dry at the moment, but it had orange flowers and there are some thorns to it also. Could it be a Berberis?

Cannot see it closely enough, but not a Berberis, if those are the leaves then they are wrong for Berberis which have needle like leaves.

Could it be a Chaenomeles perhaps?

Looks like a flowering quince but not sure from what's left of the flowers. They have spikes.

Thank you very much to all for your answers. It is a Chaenomeles.

Needs to be in a larger pot or, preferably, in the ground. It isn't going to thrive otherwise.

How do I say thanks?
