Can you tell me why runner beans always wrap round the canes anticlockwise. Even if you put them round the other way they always end up anticlockwise

I believe, and it may be wrong, that in the southern hemisphere they wrap around the other way!

I know that when you empty to bath in the Southern Hemisphere, it turns the opposite way. Does put me in mind of the Flanders and Swann song:. 'Said the right-handed honeysuckle to the left-handed bindweed.
