My pear tree looks like producing its first fruit. However the tree looks in a bad way. Some leaves have black dots and a grey mould like substance on them. Have not pruned it ever, too scared in case I did the tree damage. Should I remove the worst affected areas from the tree now?

Just noticed this didn't get a reply. A photo of the damage might help, but I can tell you that pruning should be while dormant.
