Are there any magic tricks to encourage a Peace Lily to flower please?

This has been asked many times. I put peace lily in the search box up the top and there were 9 answers, all of which give different views. Mine needed lots of light but not sunlight, don't let it sit in water and feed regularly - but I got fed up with it and chucked it out in the end! I'm not a great houseplant person.

Less light, less water, more neglect. Only water when quite dry. When you are kinder you get lots of lovely leaves but no flowers.

I have 2 in the house as they are suppose to 'purify' the air. I have lots of flowers by letting them get pot bound, tomato feed every 2 weeks. 1 is in a west facing window and the other is out of the sun in a north facing room.

There you go. A different answer from each of us!

Thanks to everyone who responded, I'm very grateful - but confused!!!

Thanks again Cammomile, I like your sense of humour. Bet you're enjoying the confusion. I have three Peace Lilies, so will try different methods to find out which reply works best.

So am I Lod! I was given one recently and so was interested in the answers. Trial and error I guess. Mine is flowering now so I won't try feeding until next year.

Good idea Lod but please tell us which worked best. I feel like a murderer when I lose a plant. I still cringe when I remember finishing off a Gardenia from mother in law, but the smell was overpowering - I didn't do it on purpose either.

They aren't really different answers except Barbara feeds hers oftener. We all agree on a spot out of the sun and not too much water.

How do I say thanks?
