I have moved a red Acer from a pot to a flower bed and half is flourishing and half is dyeing, what can I do please?

could be a couple of things;
broken a branch when moving and you havnt realised
dog, cat, fox , may have had a pee over the acer and it has scorched the leaves
one side is having a blast from the wind and too much sunshine
If me just keep well watered for now , no feeding as if its under stress plain simple water is best .....
